7-day refund policy
Witty English offers refunds on WITTY ENGLISH paid orders within 7 days of purchase. WITTY ENGLISH's paid plan is a one-time lifetime purchase — there is no subscription, no automatic renewal, and no repeat billing.
How to request a refund
To request a refund, message us on our KakaoTalk 1:1 channel with your account email and the date of purchase. We'll review and process the request.
Approved refunds are returned to the original bank account within 1–5 business days.
Note on Korean e-commerce law
Under Korean e-commerce law, consumers may generally withdraw an order (request a refund) within 7 days of receiving the product. Digital content (such as apps) is subject to the exceptions below.
1. Key exception: 'service already provided'
Under Article 17(2)(5) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, withdrawal can be restricted once delivery of digital content has begun.
- Lifetime-access apps: once you have signed in or used a paid feature even once, delivery is generally considered to have begun, which makes a refund legally difficult.
- Purpose of the rule: digital content can be copied and used as soon as it is delivered, so its value is immediately at risk. The exception exists to protect sellers.
2. When you can still claim a refund
In the following cases you have a strong claim to a refund within the statutory window:
- Materially different from the description: if a feature listed in the app description doesn't actually work or exist (a violation of the labeling & advertising law), you can request a refund within 30 days of discovering the issue (or 3 months from delivery).
- Defective product: where the app itself fails to run or has technical defects.
3. How we actually handle it
Even though the 7-day window is granted by law, many services auto-reject refunds as soon as there is any usage history. Witty English respects the intent of the law and will still review and process refund requests submitted through our KakaoTalk 1:1 channel within 7 days of purchase, even if there is usage history.
